This is how Folker, the magazine for folk and singer-songwriting, described Mr. Dennehy’s EP In the Dark, released in 2022. His music blends Irish rebel spirit with a melancholic end-of-days mood and bittersweet ballads. "I tend to find my inspiration on the dark side of the moon," says the Munich-based singer-songwriter, whose roots trace back to Ireland, England, and Franconia.
Through a critical lens, his lyrics navigate the cracks of social and emotional realities, while his unpolished, yet catchy sound brings these themes to life on stage, always enriched by a touch of storytelling.
In September 2024, Mr. Dennehy released "Yellow and Blue," the first single from his debut album, set for mid-2025. The second single, "Moving in Circles," followed in January 2025, offering a driving post-punk preview of what’s to come. 🎵
